Let me qualify that a bit more, so that you are not under the impression that you could rape someone here, be deported to another country and then roam around freely.
As I recall the deportation law states something along the lines that you will stand trail and serve prison time here for your crime, THEN be deported. Point is, that on completion of your prison sentence here (which by definition means you were found guilty of the crime for which you were tried) you are put on a plane out of the country - and you have no right to appeal.
