Im not kidding myself schools have and always will give out free lunches and guess what im 34 and was on free lunches all thru elementary and middle school for the simple fact that they were free. Take what given to you.
This is where our opinions greatly differ. I believe these "freebies" are there for those who really need them, not just for the taking. I see it as a sorta honor system. Its probably one of the most abused systems by immigrants who seem to think its there for the taking.

My mom raised 6 kids while working at the A&W and we still paid for our lunches. A lot of our Christmas and birthday presents were made by my mom. What I find interesting is that when I think back I'm sure we would be have been considered poor, but I actually felt we were better off than most. The reason was our mom never taught us to be poor. We were taught to make the best of what we got.

Its not that way today. Today our young people seem to think they are owed, and our immigrants think if its there, you can take it. The honor system no longer works. These "freebies" are meant for those who really need it not because you can't buy food for your family because you spent all your money buying those designer jeans or filled the tank on your SUV.

Illegal immigrants have the advantages of being an American(freebies) and none of the disadvantages(paying tax at the end of the year or paying for those freebies).

What does everyone think that this will do to local classrooms? I am curious how many students will have to leave, how many will enter with no english skills, and how many will stay & be even poorer than they are now. What are your opinions on this?
Well this is probably going to sound a bit heartless, but here goes.

I look at it like the businesses that hired these illegals and now are worried because they may loose them. Our schools see these children of illegals as a god send because it helps their funding. Yes the problem starts with our government not enforcing our immigrant ion laws, but like our businesses they did nothing but reap the benefits. The convenient excuse is its not up to us to verify immigration status. Well thats why we are where we are.

The other day I had a guy approach me that was trying to get one of those Spanish to English programs to run on their computer. He was really concerned about their 10 out of 11 students that couldn't speak any English. He thought he would hit a soft spot by telling me how these 10 students had been pushed through grades, thanks to no child left behind, and now in 3rd grade spoke no English.

I'll admit I had a real hard time feeling sorry for him. The kids are who I feel sorry for because the very people that pushed them through grades to make room for more, which equals more funding, apparently didn't give a crap about the kids education. The no child left behind does nothing but create more society problems.

Our schools have become production line education factories. Quantity over quality thanks to no child left behind. I used to think you couldn't really blame the teachers because they were just the pawns of the school board that was seeing dollar signs from our immigrants. But then I see teachers have no problem raising hell when the board wanted to address evolution/religion so their lack of action makes them just a guilty.

Now that we are seeing a nation wide crack down on illegals these businesses are simply discarding these people. They have made their money off them and have no further use for them. Now they because an even bigger burden on society.
