Up until the age of 7 I went to church 3 days a week. At that time it was my understanding that a minister basically got their rent, utilities and food paid. My dad was a preacher and he had a second job to make a living.
The biggest reason I no longer go to church is because it has become a "for profit" business. Its not so much about saving souls as it is about making money.
Me and the man upstairs have our own agreement outside the church. | I know what you mean D........I quit going to church for about 10 years because I felt that it was men preaching THEIR word rather than the word of God. I recently started going back to church (a different one than when I was young) because I finally found a church and minister that actually preached and practiced the word of God.....without judgement, without prejudice, without guilt. I've found that the church is only as good as the minister leading it........
