Nebraska doesn't have as many players as they used to have. They used to recruit home grown, corn fed, country boys to play, get the hometowns to give them a scholarship and walk them on..and give the university scholarships to the RB's/QB's and such (skill positions) They would have 100+ kids there. Callahan doesn't want to coach that many kids.

The running game was a lot of option football which in my opinion was exciting to watch but with the speed and skill of the defense's stepping up had to go away. The West Coast offense is the way to go. He's going through the growing pains of change...it doesn't happen over night. I'm not his fan or anything I just think it takes awhile to change a program that much.
