The tourism has been going down ever since the plants started flooding the town with immigrates. I've heard the claim that Dodge City's appeal was from the old movie and those people are dieing off, but I've done enough of my own investigating to know thats rubbish.
I've talked with people from around the world, that never even heard of Gunsmoke, and the results is always the same. They've always wanted to visit Dodge city, but they hear its nothing but a boarder town. Their complaints are the same as ours. They had a hard time getting good service due to a lack of communication skills.
There are busses that travel around western Kansas just picking up people to take to the OK casinos. From what I've heard these busses alone could keep a Dodge City casino busy.
I happen to believe a casino will make a huge difference in cleaning up the cesspool we've become. And I think time will prove me right.
