| I think for some its a job security thing. I mean if we were to all use common sense when interpreting laws, or the constitution, why would we need politicians and lawyers? They see these as open to any interpretation and using common sense isn't a factor.
If you don't like the way someone interprets the law you simply write more laws or amendments. Job security! Its why we have people like the Phelps.
