I think the permanent nurses at most hospitals are the genuine deal. Personally, I think all hospitals could improve patient care by eliminating the intern rotations. Lets face it its no fun be in the hospital and no one wants to be there. I'm not really sure why they do the internship thing I'm guessing they have their reasons, but when you've got patients, often at the worst times in their lives, stuck in a public place they're just not in the best of spirits.

I don't claim to know how the rotation system works but it seems to be that nurses in training are required to spend time at varies facilities as part of their internship. In my opinion, while it seems to work OK for the emergency services such as the ER, its not so good for nurses. If you know your only there for a short time you tend not to be as concerned about performance as you would be if you knew your job depended on it.

You put nurses that are away from their families often in a temporary resident in with patients that aren't exactly at their best, and you have the mix for a bad experience.

I can say the hospital is very committed to patient satisfaction although it may not always seem that way. Thats why there is a 800 number that you can, and are encouraged to call, to voice concerns/complaints/praises. More often than not these problems are never brought to the attention of administration so that they can be addressed.
