When Wal*Mart first came to town they were a real threat to local business because along with cheap prices they had great service. The employees seemed eager to help you. I remember being asked if I needed help all the time. I don't think fewer employees has anything to do with it because I see employees everywhere.

I used to think the problem was just a typical pattern of the giant known for crushing local business, but now I believe the real problem is the quality of employees. The old people of Dodge City are easily swayed by cheap prices but they don't take to being mislead.

Of course the new voice of Dodge City, the immigrant voice, don't seem to care much about service but only price. So at this point I really don't see much incentive for Wal*Mart to change.
