It's not just that managers that are hiring irresponsible employees, it's they employee pool they have to hiring from. So the entire blame does not lay just on the managers.
In the case of Arby's, I think it's the work environment that has a lot to do with the employee pool. I know quite a few kids looking for jobs that WILL NOT work at places like McD's because of the treatment from the other employees. The reason most of these places end up with Hispanic employees is not just because they speak Spanish. Once you see a Hispanic manager in a short time you see all Hispanic employees. |
And you're response just proved AoO's point - that it's the management that makes the difference. Why do all Hispanic employees end up working for the Hispanic manager? Why do the better employees (or lesser bad apples) end up working for the manager that will suppress the "treatment from the other employees"? Because of the MANAGEMENT.
