| First before my post gets twisted let me clarify. I am not trying to say Hispanics are bad apples. My reference to bad apples is a reference to employees with poor communication skills. And by that I'm not just talking about speaking good English, but being polite as well. The type of employee you would want dealing directly with your customers. Not the employee wearing baggy shorts tied at the knees to look like they are midgets.
I understand the manager makes the choice to hire, but what happens when their choice is limited? They've got to hire someone, and if all they've got to choose from is bad apples or close the doors, then what choice do they have?
With the Hispanic population what it is in dodge the employee pool is what it is. The manager makes the decision to hire or not based on qualifications vs the need to hire. The greater the need to hire the lower the qualifications become. These kids ultimately have the choice to be a good employee or not. To take the responsibility to be a good representative of their employer or not.
A lot of people complain about the quality of doctors we have in dodge, but few realize it's not as if they purposely choose these doctors, it's that those doctors willing to locate/re-locate to an area such as dodge is slim. Same with our local employee pool. I honestly believe that will all change with the addition of a casino.
