Up here in Yankeeland starting a couple days ago it was supposed to get a little rough, forecasting this area to be in a "winter storm watch". Well it has been on the cool side the past week+ having highs of mostly mid-upper 20s but with nothing to call a wind, it doesnt feel that cold so as usual they (the weather channel and area news stations) IMO highly overrate every so-called storm watch and we got maybe 2" snow along with just enough freezing rain to make things interesting for about 10 minutes on the streets. I really think the weather forecasters up here need to spend a year in western Kansas because im sure it would not only educate them but they would then know that wind gusts of up to 30mph do not to a Kansan - or myself anyway - constitute putting out a high wind advisory! Thats not wind! Thats a breeze!biglaugh: For the past 4 yrs that ive been up here now it has been kind of interesting that even being as far east from Kansas and as close to Lake Erie as I am, I havent seen any kind of dramatic snow or what I would call a real down home Kansas style p***-cutter of a storm! Makes me homesick.....
