| I sat here and looked at this thread for a good 20 min or so before I decided to answer.
It would be too easy for me to say, I want to go home, even though I do. It would be more correct for me to say, I want to go home with my head held high, with the rest of my Army with me (and yeah, its MY Army, as in MY family), and with the nation of Iraq thankful that we had come, and in what we have done. I want America to know every single Soldier that sheds blood for this nation does it not for any political reason, but because it needed to be done, thats what freedom costs. I want America to continue to be the worlds best hope for peace and prosperity. I want America to build the best everything, cars, TV's, everything. I want America to attract the smartest people in the world, so they can invent the greatest things and continue to make us the world mega-power. I want American leadership to understand that they are there to serve the people, not the other way around.
More than anything, I want to see another sunrise. And to see my kids smile and laugh and play and know they are safe and loved, that the world can really be their playground, all they have to do is take it. I want them to know no fear, no pain, and no sadness.
And really, should all that sound so far fetched? Or is it within reason to think that might just be possible?
Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and God Bless.
