Wreaths Across America

Wreaths Across America is coming to the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Dodge on Saturday, December 15th at 11:00 am. Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed by a member from each branch of service during the ceremony (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marines, and POW). The cemetery will receive 500 wreaths from the Worcester Wreath Company out of Harrington, Maine. This is an extention of holiday wreaths being laid at the Arlington National Cemetery for the past 16 years. This will be the second year the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Fort Dodge has participated in this event. Because of the outpouring of donations from family members, the American Legion, and the state of Kansas, the cemetery will have enough wreaths for each interment site, along with additional wreaths to be laid at the adjoining Soldiers Home Cemetery. Admission is free - the public is invited and encouraged to attend in honor and remebrance of our veterans.
