Seems that $30 million on ONE Events Center would include about anything anyone wanted, but no, CFAB's Ann and Lance want a 4-H building of some millions of dollars for their use.

old timer,
I can tell you for a fact that not only will a 35-45 million dollar sec will be built but also a very expensive 4-H type facility. We'll have both!!!
This last summer when the repeal question of wnd sales tax was in the hot seat and Judge Innes told the County that they could not even vote on the issue of repealing the tax.
County Commissioner Kim Goodnight had a plan in the mix. The County played with the idea of appealing the Judges decision. But Commissioner Kim told the city he would ensure that there would be no appeal, if in return the city commission would back his idea of a large 4-H type facility. Needless to say, this end around play by Kim Goodnight really chapped the butts of a few city commissioners , but they aggreed. In essence, Mr. Goodnight black mailed (a nasty word to use, but very appropriate) the city commission into doing things his way. After all, the last thing this city commission wanted was for the people of Ford County to vote on the repeal, and stopping the appeal and repeal process was their top priority. (which they accomplished)
The city commission is still ahead on this one. They stopped the appeal and repeal issue and I'd be willing to bet, when this 4-H type facility is being developed Kim Goodnight won't be in office, so the city will feel no obligation to honor the agreement. (maybe)
