| Do any of you remember Jim Brooks.....K-55 .....Highway Patrol ?
He lost both legs due to .....I believe it was a strep infection. "flesh eating strep" they called it. Had he not been in the best physical and mental condition he probably would have died.
I don't think they ever figured out where he was exposed to it. It took them a long time to even diagnose it and by that time it was too late for the legs. Thank God they caught it because his arms were next.
And thank God he was in Wichita for training classes when the symptoms hit him.
