Ford County Commissioner

John Swayze on Boot Hill Museum --

"Commissioner John Swayze said the museum has dropped the ball on providing entertainment to tourists and locals alike in the past couple years.
"The last two times I've been to Boot Hill in the last two or three years, I've been very disappointed," he said. "Maybe the problem is in how it's being run."

However, both commissioners said it was important to keep the museum open. "For a number of years, it has operated on zero dollars and contributed millions of dollars to the community," said Goodnight."

Hmmm- given that commission chair has been (is ?) chair of Boot Hill Museum -- must have been a quiet moment after Swayze's comment. And the Millions of Dollars -- maybe years and years ago -- but less than 60,000 visitors in a year doesn't equal millions of dollars. It has not operated on zero dollars -- spends hundreds of thousands of dollar a year -- at least in the budget last time I saw it.
