Your discounting the number of overnight stays is a logical assumption. When you look at the casino and convention center numbers, and similarly discount for day-trippers, (but mulitiply conference attendees X an avg stay of 3-nights), the economic impact gets huge.
It's common to use formulas that try to address the 'trickle down' impacts of tourism. However, casino-conference center-entertainment facility creates such a high volume of visitors that anyone can multiply and see that the impact is really unbelievable - without adding additional multiplying factors.
And, it's not just hotels - it means many new business opportunities.
