Here is a real life decision someone with no insurance has to decide.

Of all friggin days ....Tuesday this week Happy New Year to me.... I'm just minding my own business ( not really I was on DB) and all of a sudden I see in my left eye these little dots.

So Im thinking ...."get off the damn puter Weezie. So I did....... well in a little while I am not only seeing spots, I am seeing black spiderwebs....You know the kind of spiderwebs that someone has walked through and they are torn apart.

I also had a low grade headache and I thought maybe I have a Migraine coming on. (altho when I used to have those it wasn't spiderwebs in my vision ...it was really bright zigzag lines that would dissipate and then the rip roaring headache would follow) No big headache came.

So I figure I need to find out whats going on .....Sooooooo I go online and check on WTF could this be.

Seems its just something from " AGEING" ( wonderfuc*ingful)....or it could be a detached retina. If its just age, then it will disappear on its own. If not it needs to be checked for detachment.

So Wednesday I call for appointment with my NP. She wasn't in til Thursday, so I set appointment.... and in meantime spoke with someone that had experienced those spots and he said he was told it was bursted blood vessels and your body will absorb them. He said he had went to the doctor and then was sent to an Opthamologist.(ms?)

So I am thinking if I am going to be sent to another dr, then hell I don't want to pay both of them .....soooooo .....I cancelled appointment with NP.

Yesterday ....still spiderwebs, but maybe they will go away. NOT.... so today I decide well maybe I could just go have just a regular eye exam. It is only $65.00 at Walmart vision center..... but when I spoke to the lady there she said spiderwebs are something they would send you to an Opthamologist for so CRAP....I called and got a damn appointment, for Monday.

The point is ....... with no insurance , you have to sort out and skip all the BS and try to get to the heart of the matter. This visit will cost around $200.00 because they have to dilate the eye. But I can pay 2 payments ....Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..... She said they try to accommodate their patients. WOW what a concept. ( then you have to consider there is probably only 2 people in Kentucky with health insurance...LOL )

I feel pretty dang fortunate that I can make an appointment without a referral. If I had insurance ...I would have went to my NP, she would have done some testing.... then sent me somewhere for more tests and finely to the damn OPTHAMOLOGIST. That I can deal with......................UNLESS ............... its a detached retina.......... Surgery ........ which is another story...
CALLING DR. KAVORKIAN .............

Hell if these spiderwebs came in colors I could probably enjoy them.....lol
