| a Middle-age game. Politics, a game played by older people, is one of the most disgusting exhibitions of human behavior. We not only know that the players will stoop to any level to win, and don't care, but we expect it, and praise them when they do.
This is what I see of the life cycle of politics.
At 18 you have the right to vote but don't want to play the game because it just seems stupid.
By your late 20's to middle 30's you learn that politics make your life miserable and you're sucked into playing by the "If you don't vote you have no right to complain" phrase.
40 to 50 you start to question why you even bother to play, but you're again convinced that the game of politics must go on. You're lead to believe that by refusing to play in protest of the game will only be seen as a forfeit. The game goes on even if only one team shows up to play.
after 60 playing the game/voting is simply habit. You realize your participation makes no difference but you've played for too long to stop.
