That was the question. Gee, no one else wanted Ford County in the bill, I guess, from your statement. Hard to understand that unless Pat has no friends in the leg. ?? |
The answer is Neither. Apparently you think that since he had to make an emergency return from a business trip to CA that he was 'tricked' or 'dropped the ball'. That couldn't be further from the truth. Ford County fought for several years to stay in gaming bills against strong lobby and votes from the East. Pat worked hard, and risked his relationships in the legislature to keep Ford County in the last bill, but can't control the House agenda. The bill was scheduled - Dodge City was NOT included in the last draft - he returned overnight to introduce an amendment to reinstate Ford County (which passed hugely - showing the respect he has in the House). Ultimately the whole bill passed with Ford County included.
I hope you gather from this review that Pat has give Ford County tremendous representation - he went the extra mile when necessary - he is very respected in the legislature, evidenced by several that voted in favor of including Ford County, and later voted against the total bill. Old Timer - there isn't a personal agenda behind everything.
A lot of people you criticize are doing some heavy lifting for our communities, with total integrity. They contribute more than they consume. There are many more who consume more than they ever contribute and that is what continually drags our village down.
