Q: Is it legal to shoot pigeons in town with a pellet gun? Someone keeps telling me that you can, but I'm not buying it. Thanks.
A: As tempting as it may be... no.
James Thompson, a detective with the Dodge City Police Department, said that isn't necessarily because it's illegal to shoot pigeons. It is, however, illegal to shoot a pellet gun within city limits.
"I know that for a fact," he said. "It references a city ordinance that specifically forbids you from discharging a pellet gun within the city."
So, you can tell your friend he or she is wrong. And to watch the itchy trigger finger from now on.
You gotta be kidding me? Is this a burning question on the minds of the good citizens of Dodge? Can I SHOOT PIGEONS WITH A PELLET GUN? Is NEWS in this town THAT fricking slow?
