I was at the TOC games yesterday & overheard a parent & a teacher talking about how usd443 does what the plants tell them to do. School will never be called off due to weather unless the plants close. They've told the district not to close unless they do. Teachers & principals are supposed to leave the plant's business office alone because the district doesn't want to upset them. The teacher said that a certain person at the Administration Building stated that the plants told them that usd443 owes them because if they cut & run, the schools would be out of business. I know this is an overheard rumor, but it real makes me angry if it is true. Schools shouldn't have to bow down like this.
