| flight path was addressed at meeting Location approved by FAA. Oddly, the one sad plane crash we've had in years was out by the old air field, very near the west location.
More importantly, and not addressed, is that the new proposal makes saving millions of dollars possible for Dodge City/Ford County through land donation, building of agri-tourism facilites, and a positive outlook on having horses in the area ! Which ever group gets the contract by the state of Kansas -- I just glad that pressure to save taxpayers that money can be applied to both. Remember, Butler wants to sale 33 acres for our Event Center to Dodge City -- Dodge City Gaming will give it free. And their proposal would avoid the cost of building a second events center for the agri-related events, again a major cost savings.
(And no, I'm not in any way, direct or non-direct, involved financially with either group. Don't like gambling -- don't want to pay to be proven a loser, nor to pay more taxes at the casino, etc...... )
ps: facility at Hardings has been home to some of the nicest parties in Dodge, but it was only a side note that money could be flowing immediately, if desired. The plans by the second group were as nice/nicer than the attractive Butler plan -- the state will require $50 million or more from each for casino/hotel, so that is not a concern.
