You know, sometimes I just don't understand. Its not about having an isolationist attitude, and its not about poverty in the US.
Lets say you are helping a lot of folks in your neighborhood. They get steady money from you because you are a generous soul. They depend on that money and you know it. That's why you help. You know that without that help some of those folks might get hungry.
Then there is huge emergency in your household. Its been one thing after another for awhile and it has stacked up so much you have no choice but to
back off your generosity.
Its gonna take a lot of money for some period of time to get back on your feet. You tell the folks that your generosity has almost bankrupted you and your family, and you have been borrowing money from folks in other neighborhoods just to make sure they have some semblance of normalcy. If they can just bare with you for a little while hopefully soon, you will begin to recover and can resume what you were doing.
Why is running a country any different than running a large corporation ? Ford is having to take drastic measures to stay afloat.
We are all about capitalism and successful corps have to trim their budgets or else.
