| Immigrant vote I saw on the new this morning that Hispanic immigrants are mad because many will not obtain "legal status" in time for Novembers presidential vote.
Now I wasn't surprised to see them marching again, but this time I saw a few bits that did kind of piss me off. First they show a room with probably 40 people being LEGALLY sworn in as Americans, and not a one of them looked Hispanic. Asians, Blacks, and Indians I could identify, but where were all the Hispanics? Now I do believe this was done in New York which was the main port of entry, where as the immigrants from the south have made their own port of entry. A quick jaunt through Texas, jog around Oklahoma, and straight to southwest Kansas.
Then they interviewed several Hispanics that were protesting and one of the leaders of the march. When asked about why they were marching they said because it takes too long to go through the process to become legal. And then they go on to say it used to take 7 months but now is taking 18 months.
Now I was under the impression it took many years and that is why the Hispanics were protesting, yet these people couldn't wait 7 months before, and 18 months is out of the question?
