That's one way to attack the illegal immigration problem. They are probably all loading up to head for SW Kansas now!

News from across Kansas: Influx of Tyson workers to western part of state expected
GARDEN CITY | Influx of Tyson workers expected

The decision by Tyson Foods to lay off 1,500 workers from its Emporia plant will probably send hundreds of people to western Kansas.

Tyson began laying off workers in Emporia on Wednesday as part of a plan to end beef-slaughter operations at the facility.

Many workers could move west to Garden City. That could be a boost for an area that lost 2,000 jobs when the ConAgra beef plant there burned down in 2000.
