Granted it may be no big thing, but it always seems to bug me when someone is of mixed heritage and they choose to be represented by the minority side. Is he "black" ? I thought he was from a mixed family so why is he "black"? Why doesn't he tell his supporters to quit regarding him as such? Just a thought is all.
When someone tries to stradle the fence so as not to upset sides......they show a great weakness. If he didn't put his hand over his heart.....then just say it. Why come up with some bullshit smoke-up-the-ass excuse? That makes him sound like a wimp and appologetic for being an American. Screw anybody who "feels" oppressed by our flag. You are not saluting them.......so who gives a crap what they think or feel?
I like BO. I liked him when he spoke at the last election. I think he is truly one of the most motivational people I have seen in a long time and I respect what he has done. That being said, in my own opinion and not because he is a Democrat, I do not think he will win because he lacks the experience needed to be the leader of the strongest country on this planet. Making people feel good only goes so far. |
I think the bold sections in your quote above answers your own question. I feel a great leader is able to say and do the things to get others to follow him(or her) in a quest that they feel passionately about. Being able to know how, what and when to say things is a HUGE step in getting others to follow you where you want to lead them. It isn't about dividing the people into liberal or conservative, or Democrat or Republican. It is about uniting people to come together on some common ground to do what needs to be done.
That is what I think, for all that it is worth.
