| Many vets need the care NOW - not 1 year from the time they sign up. Check the waiting time from sign up to being in the system lately? It's quite a wait in Texas. Thats why there are agencies to fill the gap the VA in it's bureaucratic insanity has created. It's too big and basically isn't the best functioning program around.
I wonder how many of the homeless and addicted ever said - I want to join the military, and come out damaged goods. Not many, the VA tho is still responsible for reaching out to these folks but they do very little of that.
The VA is a good idea - but needs some serious attention to detail.
