There is allot of welfare due to social ills not financial ones. The system does need a good cleaning but you are so right - not everyone lives in the same deadbeat box. We need to give welfare the respect it once had so it can do what it was intended to do. I'm not really interested in which party fostered the "welfare state". I see folks every day using the system and folks that I thank God it's there for because truly - there go I but for the grace of God. It's not easy to be productive when you are sick no matter what it's due to. Compassion is a really hard thing for some folks. Could be cause they have forgotten how fortunate they are and how hard it was when they were down on their luck or they have been taken for too many rides by too many players.
