This doesn't really help Hillary going into the Texas primary.... Quote:
WASHINGTON — Illinois Sen. Barack Obama picked up a key local endorsement Monday as Texas continued to look more like a showdown state in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Rep. Charlie Gonzalez, D-San Antonio, threw his support to Obama, accelerating the momentum the Illinois senator gained over the weekend with primary and caucus wins in Louisiana, Washington state, Nebraska and Maine. Gonzalez is the fourth "superdelegate" from the Lone Star state to support Obama, while New York Sen. Hillary Clinton has secured pledges from 12, including six members of Congress and former U.S. House Speaker Jim Wright, according to the Texas Democratic Party.
"Sen. Obama brings all these new fresh faces," Gonzalez said. "He has a wider audience. He has the greater potential to engage a greater number of people..."
