If there was you wouldn't be able to buy it. Have you seen any stations with with a "Sorry we're outta gas sign" displayed. Hell, I could call a bulk dealer right now and order 10,000 galoons of fuel and they'd deliver it as long as I could pay for it. Quit drinking the Kool-Aid and think for yourself for a change. Shortage my ass!!
Oil is a global market commodity. We have to out bid the rest of the world to get our supply. There is no shortage of $100 a barrel oil but there is a big shortage of $50 a barrel oil. The laws of supply and demand still apply. On the supply side it’s estimated that we have more oil than Saudi Arabia but we can’t put holes down to get it for environmental reasons.

We haven’t built any new refineries to keep up with the demand for over 30 years because of environmental reasons. Now we import refined fuels which is more expensive than refining it ourselves locally. We also have designer fuels for environmental reasons that further drive up costs.

Blaming Bush is just a cop out. Have you priced gas overseas? We have it cheap. If you don’t like the price you pay now, wait until the Democrats jack it up with another 50 cents or more per gallon tax for, you guessed it, environmental reasons.

There is nothing inherently wrong with wanting a clean environment. But there are trade offs. Fuel prices are one of them. Suck it up and pay your share.

This is about money and BIG profit......nothing else.
It sounds like you are all in favor if paying the price to save the environment until you have to open your pocketbook and pay the price.

When the oil companies stop making a profit there will be no gas to be had. Then you’ll save even more money by walking.
