There were no legals or illegals then. Just workers that came for their betterment. Now there are rules -- rules that historically were written due to issues of race and nationalilty. "Chinese exclusion act" was the name of one -- just to make that point.

The source of the jobs -- jobs that overlook little things like illegal or legal -- unless needed to fire someone -- that's where the problem starts. And those jobs are managed by very non-hispanics.

Many on this board don't see that -- or would rather overlook it, in my view. Arrest the management of Excel -=- the 'illegal' problem would clear up very fast.

ETA: For me it is so much less about illegal and more about lack of respect. I know lots of illegal immigrants that are productive members of society and I feel like if they are good citizens they why not make it easier for them to be citizens. It's the lack of respect that many (gasp, even white people!) people have that really makes me sad.
