HOW ABOUT A GROUP OF RESOURCES FOR POOR, TIRED OF WORKING, WHITE BOY OWNED BUSINESSES????
Group to look at resources for Hispanic-owned businesses
The Wichita Hispanic Chamber of Commerce will take a look at "Safeguards for Hispanic Employers and Workers" at its lunch meeting this month.
The featured speaker will be Dave McDonnell, a compliance assistant specialist in the Wichita office of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.
Chamber officials said they chose to look at OSHA programs, assistance and resources due to the considerable growth of Hispanics in the work force and the increase in Hispanic-owned and operated businesses.
Topics include:
• Spanish language compliance assistance.
• Hispanic/English-as-a-second-language coordinators.
• Employer and employee rights and responsibilities.
• OSHA cooperative programs.
The meeting will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Room 102 at the University of Phoenix, 3020 N. Cypress.
Cost is free to members, $15 for nonmembers.
To register, the chamber can be reached at 316-265-6334.
