I don't get what the big deal is? So what if Boeing didn't win the contract. Northrop-Grumman won it and they are still an American company aren't they? They are listed on the NYSE. John K. “Jack” Northrop formed Northrop Aircraft Incorporated in Hawthorne, Calif. in 1939. So what if Northrup thinks the Airbus frame is a better match to the plans they have for the tanker. Do you think Boeing makes everything in the U.S.???

All modern jetliners are built from a global supplier base and the two entrants in the KC-45A competition are no exception. The Boeing tanker includes parts manufactured in Japan, United Kingdom, Canada and Italy. The Northrop Grumman tanker includes parts built in the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain and France.
