Mexican citizen Pedro Villa-Campos, 24, was charged Wednesday with one count of possession of false documents to be employed in the United States, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Wichita.
Villa-Campos, who was living in Meade County, was also charged with one count of possession of false U.S. government identification documents, two counts of aggravated identity theft and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm by an illegal alien.
The alleged crimes supposedly occurred Sept. 17, 2007.
If convicted, Villa-Campos faces a maximum prison term of 10 years in a federal prison and up to a $250,000 fine for each charge except aggravated identity theft. That charge carries a mandatory two-year sentence in federal prison, to be served at the same time as any other prison sentence.
