I am saying how many bars advocate getting a DD or suggestions (besides small signs here and there) of the drinkers to call a cab or hand the keys over. It's part of getting back to basics, our community needs to focus on core values and influence the citizens to follow. By no means I am trying to sounds like we should shut the bars down because most of us enjoy going out for a meal and drink but it is part of the business to be responsible remind people "Hey it looks like you may of had too much, do you need a ride home because it would be no problem trying to get you one!"

Besides it is illegal to serve someone who is drunk.....when is the last time you saw a bartender refuse to serve someone because they had too much to drink. It happens and that is the bar I want to go to because they are looking out for everyone not too worried about profit.

I disagree, to some extent. The business should not be responsible. They do not know who is driving and who is not. It is not against the law to get drunk. Just what you do when you are drunk. I am not advocating drunkeness, but we cannot make those serving responsible any more than they already are. Let the police take care of them outside or inside. Government is already too involved in businesses. No need making cops out of them, too.

We all need to take a little responsibility ourselves, and if you get a DUI, then count yourself lucky and take the opportunity to change before you kill someone.
