| The Riverwalk is downtown and real nice at this time of the year. Right across the street from the Riverwalk is Alamo Plaza, where of course, the Alamo is. Also, across the street in the other direction is Hemisfair Plaza with the 'Hemisfair tower' thing (looks like Seattles Spaceneedle).. If you dig history, then theres the 'Institute of Texan Cultures' downtown as well. Sea World and Fiesta Texas are on the northwest side of town off of Highway 151 (for Sea World) and Loop 1604 and I-10 for Fiesta Texas. A good place to eat is near the entrance to Sea World, its called 'Rudys' Worlds Worst Barbque'.. Dont let the name fool you, its real good. Also, Downtown is the 'Farmers Market' which is a cool place to waste time in, theres a world famous Mexican Restaurant in the market where all the Presidents eat at when they visit San Antonio, its called Mi Tierra. The Lone Star Brewery is no longer open to the public, as its was bought out by Coors. If youre into beer, then Shiner, Texas and the Spoetzel Brewery that makes Shiner Bock is not too far from San Antonio. If shoppings your thing, then there is a huge outlet store complex north of San Antonio in San Marcos, which is between San Antonio and Austin. Dont forget the San Antonio Spurs are in season right now at the AT&T Center... Hope some of this helps you.. |
