When I was in the Army you paid taxes on your base pay, which is pretty low by civilian standards. All the clothing, food, housing and other allowances were tax-exempt. How much of your monthly pay is taxed and how much is tax-exempt?
I can tell you now that 100% of my pay is taxed.
