My base pay is pretty low. It's about $48,060 this year. That's taxable. I also make $12,960 a year housing allowance (per 67801 zipcode) that is non taxable. So out of just under 70K I pay taxes on about 70% of it. The non taxed benefits are part of the benefit of being in the military. This year with bonuses and such I will surpass about 120K with 90K of it being taxed.
