I am an Obama supporter. I don't want to get into a fight or debate with anybody, I just want to point something out. Have you heard of Rev. John Hagee from Texas? He has endorsed McCain and McCain has never fully denounced this guy's endorsement. McCain has said he is proud of the endorsement. I am Catholic and Hagee has said many extremely hateful things about the Catholic Church, calling the Church things I can't mention on these forums. A few of his less offensive quotes:

"New Orleans had a level of sin that was offensive to God and they were recipients of the judgment of God for that."

"all Muslims have a mandate to kill Christians and Jews."

"Most readers will be shocked by the clear record of history linking Adolf Hitler and the Roman Catholic Church in a conspiracy to exterminate the Jews."

"Do you know the difference between a woman with PMS and a snarling Doberman pinscher? The answer is lipstick. Do you know the difference between a terrorist and a woman with PMS? You can negotiate with a terrorist."

What Rev. Wright said is hurtful to America, but I don't see Hagee being much better. My point is that if you dig enough, you will find dirt on every candidate. They all have skeletons in their closets and they all have shady characters trying to get behind them.

I really liked McCain 8 years ago. I feel America would be in a much better place now if he had won instead of Bush. The thing I like about him is that he is willing to cross the aisle, to work with others and not vote down party lines all the time. But now that he is the nominee, he has changed. He was a tortured P.O.W. who was very against torture. But now all of a sudden, it is okay with him that the US uses torture. Just little things like that annoy me. A person should stick to their core beliefs.

Finally, a compliment. I've been a member here for quite a while, but only read stuff. I didn't start posting until recently. I consider myself right in the middle politically. I'm not with the far off crazy conservatives or the far off crazy liberals. I have my ideals and I stick to them and vote on who I agree with the most. Army of One, I disagree with quite a bit of your politics. However, I compliment you for sticking to your guns and for backing up all of your ideas. I get so tired of people who just spew hateful garbage without even attempting to back it up with facts. You usually do a good job finding sources that back you up.
