| What I find interesting is Rev. Wright's views of the world seems to have stunned people. As a storm trooper we did a lot of traveling but my dad made sure we were in church every Sunday. So he would pick a local church where ever we were and we would attend. Many were "black churches" and I must say I never felt comfortable in any of them. They were not all that different from Wright's church.
Is it that hard to believe? I read somewhere that 90% of blacks carry some kind of resentment toward whites. Have we really come as far as we give ourselves credit for when it comes to race? No! All we've done is make it illegal to display in most public places.
Should we be concerned that a presidential candidate comes from such a background? You damn right! I don't think there is that much difference in Wright's church and Rev. Phelps church other than Phelps takes it to the streets. Would you consider electing a president that had 20 years in the Phelps church? Hell no!
What I was a bit upset about was I've seen 4 other black ministers interviewed on the news, and every one of them defended Rev. Wright. None of them agreed with him, but they all defended him. When asked about Wright's claim of the "white government injecting Aids into blacks" none of them would say they didn't think it was true. They all avoided a direct answer, and 2 of them admitted they thought there was truth behind it.
