| I'm south east Texas right next to LOUISANNA border. Actually on the coast. 14 miles north of Galveston - island off coast. New Boston - perhaps in central east Tx.
We consider East Tx the piney woods near Orange, Beaumont, Tyler, and the such. We don't actually consider ourselves East Texans - they are another culture all together. They are agriculture, overall wearin, hog hunters and the such. Not that that's a bad thing - it's just not the south texas thing.
South is more go to the beach, wake up at noon, happy hour at 4,tourist kinda folks. Most round here to to "east tx" to hunt and get moonshine, or spend some time in the woods. Our country side is sand and gulf! There are some rural areas here but they are surrounded by cities and the issues that go with them
