I used to fight with John Curtis about this all the time. His excuse was that if it wasn't local (meaning here in
DC) it was not of interest to the Globe. Hell, we had local kids competing on the professional level in worldwide events, but the Globe didn't care back then either! If it wasn't for the friggin' Obits & Grocery adds, I wouldn't even buy the Glob! I read the Hutch and Wichita papers for "news and knowledge"!
One thing I will say though, is that we have requested a "Police Log" for years. They finally did get somewhat of that in, even if it is partial. Seems like everything is a "secret" around this town.
