One of the great benefits at the job I have is we DON'T pay Social Security. We have Social Security Replacement. What I would pay in FICA and the amount my employer matches goes into an account with my name on it. I am free to invest it as I see fit. I currently have a decent nest egg. I think one of the good benefits of the program, since I don't have any dependents, is that if I die all the the money I have will go to my mother or whoever I choose. If I were paying Social Security that money would be gone. Another good thing, when the stock market is down, I'm buying low every two weeks. When the stock market is going well my accounts reflect it. Pretty nice program.
