And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."
Obama made a problematic judgment call in trying to explain working class culture to a much wealthier audience. He described blue collar Pennsylvanians with a series of what in the eyes of creamy Californians might be considered pure negatives: guns, clinging to religion, antipathy, xenophobia.

A couple of members here have pleaded that we should listen to what Obama says. I do and the more I hear the better (choke) Hillary (gasp) Clinton
starts to look. I didn’t think anyone could be worst than Hillary but I was mistaken. Did BO spend 20 years in Wright’s pews listening to hate speech because he was bitter and frustrated? What I see is a typical liberal elitist that holds his nose while pandering to the red blooded blue collar folks because he needs their votes.
