| I've heard American's talk about the inavailablity of services, waiting times, etc. in the Canadian Healthcare System. All I know is, my family, who live in Canada and who are dependant upon their healthcare system have not experienced these issues. Maybe they are just lucky, or maybe the shortages, wait times, etc. are just greatly exaggerated by folks who really don't know what they are talking about.
I needed a hysterectomy when I was 23 years old. Talk about a long, drawn out process.....my physician fought with my insurance company for over a year in order to get them to approve that surgery for me. My doctor was forced to perform all kinds of additional tests, biopsies, etc. before Insurance finally agreed to the surgery, all the time I'm in excruciating pain and I've missed a ton of work, almost lost my job.
Wait times don't just happen in a National Healthcare System.
