We still segregate gays down here - are they talkin a separate prison facility all together or are they talkin just a cell block? I know with the gangs and such in the system seperation is essential just for security purposes. Ya can't mix gangs and ya can't mix sexual orientation and have a safe enviorment for the officers and prisoners. We didn't seperate the females cause a very high majority of them are historically gay during lock up anyway. Doesn't seem to be such an issue for women - men got all those wierd hormones that make em have more phobias bout sexual orientation in lock up. Not a good security idea to mix flamin queens with a general pop inmate. Costs too much in medical care and law suits.
