My thought as well. What would be gained by giving a false confession. He's a police officer, for God's sake! He knows (or should have known) the repercussions associated with the statement he made. I guess I would have to fault the defense if what you're saying is true. Why did the defense not test the gun and enter testimony about that?
The KBI and whomever else you want to blame about Chris being convicted aren't the ones to blame. They only acted on what they found. If it's not true, why wasn't that proven?
