Having been a private investigator for quite a few years, I would tell you that if anyone takes your money to investigate this......it is money lost and they are taking you for a ride. To get an appeal you have to:
prove or show the counsel was incompetant (highly unlikely)
produce new evidence not discoverable at time of trial (not likely)
prove that a states witness lied
Also, they will dig up EVERYTHING from his past. Trust me, if there is even one shred of truth to the youthville thing, it will come out.
I'm with Fam on this one.....talk to him and get him to tell you the truth. If you accept his version, then so be it. I do not whole heartedly trust juries, but in this case the evidence you wish to discredit points to him and him alone.
