All branchs of the military are 100% voluntary. There is no draft like there was in the past. Everyone who joins knows there is a chance they will go to war and not come home. They make that decision on there own. I also don't know how you think that comparing accidents and deaths in the states cheapens the deaths of the Soldiers in Iraq. If I am in Iraq I know that everyday may be my last. Here we take a lot of things for granted. Sounds like you are just pissed off because it is safer living in Iraq then it is in the US.
